Regulating ball valves. The main purpose of this type of valves is the control function, which cannot be done on shut-off ball valves. The proposed ball valves are designed to regulate the transported (transmitted) medium in technological, industrial pipelines and special devices.

The proposed control valves are made of two types:

• with linear flow characteristics;
• with an equivalent consumption characteristic.

With a linear flow characteristic, the increment of throughput is proportional to the angle of rotation of the ball plug. With an equal percent consumption characteristic, the increment of throughput is proportional to the current value of throughput.

Segment cranes have high throughput in the open state and good tightness in the closed state with significant pressure drops of the transported medium. An important advantage is the variety of environments in which their use is possible:

• liquid;
• gaseous;
• steam;
• media with high viscosity;
• media containing solid particles;
• environments with high temperature.

4- and 8-position ball valves are designed for the distribution of transmitted flows (or their mixing), liquid and gaseous media. Can be made of various materials:

• carbon steel;
• stainless steel;
• cold-resistant steel and their combinations.

These cranes can be installed both on technological highways and in control lines of machines and aggregates (furnaces, machine tools, dampers, doors, gates, hydraulic control units and other hydraulic systems). The number of incoming mains of one crane (inputs and outputs) can be from three to nine. Each position of the crane can provide connection of two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight and nine autonomous highways.

Depending on the technological conditions, cranes can be manufactured:

• for different temperatures of the transmitted media (up to 270 °C);
• for various pressures (up to 350 MPa);
• various dimensions and construction sizes (lengths);
• various versions for connection to mains (flanged, coupling, nipple, welded, combined).

The use of modern materials and technical solutions makes it possible to create high-quality reliable cranes with an increased resource and a high degree of tightness after prolonged operation.
